AQUART　アクアートとは？

海の中、水中に作品を展示する展覧会です。

世界には数多くのダイバーがいます。
しかし、ダイバーであり作家でもある彼らは、たいへん希有な存在といえます。
彼らは、今まで映像でしか見たことのなかった水中の世界を体験し、
感性を刺激する「なにか」を感じたのです。
その「なにか」をかたちにし、その作品を海の中で展開することにより、
「別世界における新たなアートの可能性」を広げる試みを実現します。

What is AQUART ?

AQUART is an art exhibition displayed under water and projects related the exhibition.
It is also the organization to carry out the exhibition and projects.

The members of AQUART are artists who dive.
In the world there are a great number of divers.
However, few of them create artworks under the water.
We, diving artists, have explored the world under the sea which people can see only in screen images.
We feel something there. It touches our senses and inspires us.
We try casting that 'something' into shapes and present it under the sea.
That is all about AQUART.
We pursue the possibility of new art in the new world through being with nature.
We aim to combine art and nature, and to arouse people's interest in nature and the environment.
With this unique exhibition under the water, we hope to provide a place and opportunity to discuss with the local people environmental conservation and revitalization of the area.

（西村、川合、久田の3人が2004年5月23日に東京・渋谷のＮＨＫに収録に行って来ました。)
